A freshman student from China is consistently urged by his father to stop thinking about “foolish” religious ideas and concentrate on his grades, but the young man refuses. In a subplot, a young Muslim student is willing to sacrifice her family relationships for her belief in Christ. The hero of the movie, a young university freshman named Josh Wheaton, is willing to sacrifice his relationship with his fiancée, his university career, his future job, and his reputation to stand up for God’s existence. Perhaps the most powerful and pervasive message of God’s Not Dead is that any person who calls himself or herself a Christian must be willing to sacrifice everything for Christ. The often-overlooked fact is, theistic, creationist, and Christian-oriented students and professors are frequently the target of liberal, atheistic, and/or evolutionary professors and department heads (e.g., Kingkade, 2013 Bergman, 2008 Stein and Miller, 2008 see also Miller, 2011). ![]() There was obvious bullying and intimidation taking place. Several months later, another student from the same university confirmed that the same thing happened in one of her classes. Sure enough, toward the end of the semester the professor posed the question again, “How many of you believe in God?” Only one student stood up. The professor then went on to say that by the end of the semester not one of them would stand up when he asked that question. Seven individuals out of a fairly large class rose from their seats. Sometime ago a gentleman, who had been a student at a well-known university in the southeastern United States, visited with us after one of our lectures and recounted how, at the beginning of one particular semester, a science professor asked students in the class to stand up if they believed in God. The fact of the matter is, belligerent criticism of theism and Christianity has been occurring on college campuses all over the country for years, and it is very appropriate for God’s Not Dead to raise awareness of such bullying from various intolerant, liberal professors. Claudia Puig of USA Today has alleged that “the contrived premise of God’s Not Dead is anything but credible.” Puig dismissed the idea of a professor at a respected academic institution ever criticizing religion as “primitive superstition,” saying, “Even if a teacher believed this, it’s highly unlikely he would declare it to a class full of students” (2014, emp. ![]() ![]() Now, I had to watch the English version, so for me the only problem was the way the voices wouldn't match the lips, as Zoki-chan said in her review of the series. Sure, I love beautiful art and great detail as much as the next girl(or guy) when it comes to my anime, but Bakugan's art is, in my opinion, excellent without being excessive. Enough detail to differentiate Bakugan and add to the experience of the show, but not so much detail that it simply blows you away when you see it. However, it's also very good and the way it's drawn plays out the battles very well. I'll be the first to admit, the art of Bakugan Battle Brawlers is similar to a lot of anime. People really need to give it a second chance and watch farther into the anime. Bakugan is one of those anime that you have to watch long enough to get into the actual story in order to set it apart from other anime, and once you do, it's very good. However, if you don't watch past a certain point, you'll never get caught up in the story, and that's probably why most people akin it to most other animes that it's similar to, they just don't watch far enough into the story. However, the story still gives twists and tweaks that really set Bakugan apart. Evil person trying to destroy the world and they have to use the Bakugan to save it. There are quite a few things in this anime that really make it stand out from all those others that people compare it too, so let's take a little timeĪlright, so the story of Bakugan Battle Brawlers is pretty much something most people would expect. However, in reality, I don't feel that way. Now, this series gets a lot of hate, and I can see where some people are coming from when they say it's a rip-off of Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon. He soon gets dragged into the conflict, and together with his Bakugan Brawlers team, must traverse the dimensions and restore balance in a ravaged world.Īlright, I thought I'd take the time and effort to write a review on a series I just recently finished(due to long breaks from it in order to do other things), and personally found very enjoyable, Bakugan Battle Brawlers. The fight suddenly moves to Earth, where Danma comes into possession of a talking, mighty fire Bakugan, Pyrus Dragonoid. However, during one of his fights he experiences a vision of a clash in Vestroia. Invaded by the White Dragon Naga and his servants, the Doom Beings, the realm becomes increasingly destabilized. Meanwhile, war for domination over Vestroia, the homeland of Bakugan cards, rages on. The game gained instant popularity among children and teenagers, with the best of them competing in a worldwide ranking. Capable of summoning powerful creatures from another dimension, they became the centerpiece of a new game called Bakugan. Mysterious cards came down from the sky one day. Most come with onboard FX tailored to the instrument, so using third party plugins becomes less of an issue.Ī virtual tone wheel organ saves a huge amount of space and at this stage they have been modelled to perfection, often with an expanded set of controls to what you’d find on the original - typically in the form of extra effects and the ability to move virtual room mics around the Leslie speaker. If you’re lucky, your DAW might come with a great Rhodes instrument bundled, the most notable example probably being Logic Pro’s Vintage Electric Piano. There are a fair few around, but among the best are NI’s Scarbee Vintage Keys (£129), AAS’s Lounge Lizard EP-4 ($199) and Modarrt’s Pianoteq with Electric Piano expansion pack. Featuring extensively in 70s rock and 80s pop, the Rhodes was and remains a mainstay of the jazz world. Whatever is listed there will be available in Logic. Check your Mac HD/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components folder. Does that mean versions of them would already be available and installed to use on my version of locic 8, bearing in mind that I pretty much installed everything to begin with? ![]() Thanks fader8 for looking into this for me.!really sorry to ask now the next question.(a little new to this!) but you say most of these are available as AU's. ![]() This is also what makes AU to VST wrappers viable, and in all but the most complex cases work fairly well. So, generally, it is not much more effort for a company to offer both VST and AU versions and there is not that much differetn. So, the "guts" of the plug-in are the same regardless of the version, it is really just the thin layer that communicates with the host that differs. The interface is how the host application "talks to" the plug-in. If for some reason, a company has an AU version but you only have the VST version, I would contact that company via support to get the AU version.Īs an FYI, all the VST/AU/RTAS stuff is not but interfaces. So, most of the time, the install disc has both VST and AU on it (for instance). With most of the effect/synth licensing, when you by the license to use the software, you buy it to use in any form. Are the AU versions of guitar rig, absyth, string studio etc named differently and if so do I need to buy the software seperately again and install? |
